Time to talk

Leanne and Michael, members of Pro-Active Community, joined 7 others at today’s new Beyond Words Book title read through.

Thank you to Emily and Sheila Hollins for inviting us to share their lived experience of online safety, and to provide ideas on images as we talked each page of the new title story through.

Michael wanted people to know “this can happen to anyone, being careful on your mobile phone, or on social media is important”

“People need to be told what you need to do to stay safe on Facebook and things like that, we have to know how to (stay safe) and ways to tell other people”, Leanne said.

Always great to spend time with other experts and talk about ways to make a difference for friends and colleagues.

A privilege to meet Mike, the graphic illustrator, and to see all the pencil sketches made before colour is even introduced, as a new book comes to life.

Looking forward to sharing the new title, and I know other much needed books will follow on this same safeguarding/online safety theme, to open discussions, build skills and develop awareness.
