Michael represents Pro -Active Community at his first Learning Disability Partnership Board meeting
Pro-Active Community Chair person Michael Farrington, joined the Learning Disability Partnership Board meeting on Thursday 13th March, to share his thoughts and ideas whilst hearing of all the developments across Surrey.
Amazing news to see the newly built properties, or view the works in progress, to know so many new supported homes will be made available throughout the County is positive proof of consultation, co-production and partnership working.
Michael said ‘I had a lot of questions today, I heard a lot of things happening and I want to steward at Guilfest this year - I’ve never been it sounds good but I was worried I wouldn’t know anyone. If I’m supported to do it I will know people’
Commissioning updates presented by Mary Hendrick, Tom Moore, Helen Hunt and on behalf of Rivka Stringer shared so much positive progress.
Thank you to Amanda Aldridge and Narmadha Kothandapani from Learning Disability and Autism Hub for the championing role they play in ensuring easy read information and its importance for accessibility is shared and hilighted wherever possible.
Fadzai Tande provided updates on performance across Surrey showing the large numbers of people supported to live independently against an ever tight funding allocation.
Encouraging to see the numbers of supported adults with learning disability moving out of hospital settings into their own homes.
