Working with People and Communities Strategy Event Thursday 7th April, 2022
Author: Leanne Yeo
On Thursday 7th April I went to surrey heartlands co designing event in Epsom racecourses
When I arrived at the racecourse there was 80 people in a room and 40 people online too
I saw a lot of people from health workers from surrey
I hear from a Tim Oliver and Ian Smith that talk about health and show us some slideshow about showing us about health
We heard from Kate Scribbins chief executive Healthwatch surrey
We then went into table groups to talk about health
We talked about people connected to health in surrey and what we have to decised about health and what health did to disabled and other people
We had a short break after are first breakout room we talked about different things about health and connected with people
We talked about putting ‘people’ at the heart of the system this very good and I understand what they was talking about
Did you think there should have been more plain English used?
Me and Helen used a clever digital voting poll called Vevox to make an image of words on the main screen from what was thought that health need to be help with
There was talk about the lack of funds to run focus groups where people taking part in should be paid for their time while in the focus groups
we were asked to discuss 2 points at our table and there were about 10 points in total discussed around the tables in the room.
I understand what was going on in the heartland co designing and what we talk about in the groups
I felt that people how need help doesn’t get help when they need help and I felt the lack funds to run focus group was not right and that focus groups need to happen to help people that need to be in a focus group
I have a good time at the event and was good that I was there to give my point out when they need too
