The first meeting this year
For the first meeting this year, Pro-Active Community welcomed Natalie Gil from University of Surrey to ask members for their experiences of booking or attending medical appointments, cancer screening, the reasonable adjustments made for these and anything else they wanted to share.
The PhD research project ‘Understanding lived experiences of learning disabilities and cancer diagnosis’ is a challenging topic to talk about for many.
Members have booked individual conversations with Natalie over the coming weeks to speak privately and will have their results included anonymously.
📧If you want to know more about this research, know someone who would like to take part, or join this yourself, please contact hello@proactivecommunity.org.uk or n.gil@surrey.ac.uk
