The Big Feedback - Take 3!

Despite the grotty weather, a sizeable group of Pro Active Community members and other people and their staff all came together to feedback to Active Prospects UK about the services and support they provide.

A vital part of transparency and trust is the opportunity to speak up about what is going well, and of course what isn’t, so improvements can be discussed, and made. Being vocal is a core value for Active Prospect, so supporting everyone to speak up isn’t just talked about, it really happens.

The focus today was sharing the first draft of the easier to read, co-produced Tenant Handbook, as the images and wording have been advised by tenants, but designed completely together, delivered by Lynn Fagan and Helen Guest.

The next topic was travel and local areas, sharing all the amazing places we are fortunate to have in Surrey and Sussex, a lot of venues people heard about for the first time today. Huge chance to open up new and often free places to explore. This will be the foundation for an Active Prospects directory of locations.

🗣️Nick Kinsella, Aspiring Prospects Manager at Active Prospects, invited everyone to join the next Pro-Active Community meeting in June, to look at self advocacy and understand more about how this looks for people with a learning disability. The new programme in development is an interesting review of what people need to enable them to effectively advocate for themselves, or for others.

Once again Jade Vallance, Director of Care at Active Prospects and Board member of the Pro Active Community, recapped on the importance Active Prospects place on feedback and how as an organisation everything possible is a two way process, built on trust and honesty, shaped by and for the people they support.

Great to welcome senior leadership team members and managers from Active Prospects Jessica Mugwambi Andrea Wiggins Gladys Namutebi Angella Chimenya and CEO Maria Mills as well as Central Office staff, Fundraising Manager Alice Murray

Personal thanks to those who helped set up and clear away, many hands make lighter work!! Thank you Robert, Michael and Angella.
