Robert joins the Surrey Coalition AGM meeting to welcome new Board member

A fully interactive AGM for Surrey Coalition today brought together a large group of members and leads across Surrey.
From seated exercise to discussions about mental health the Coalition thanked leaving Board members and welcomed new ones including
Active Prospects UK Director of People and Recruitment, Kaushika Patel, FCIPD
Joined by Robert, an expert with lived experience, it was a great chance for everyone to share ideas and experiences to relate with one another more effectively.
Coproduction was such a common and powerful theme, it truly is so key, if you want to build trust and improve provisions, those they are intended for have to be at the table in all discussions.
Really thought provoking hearing about the SMEF and Surrey Coalition research outcomes across minority ethnic groups.
It will be interesting to explore advocacy and signposting possibilities with Sarah Ford and the Disability Partnership Board as that is currently separate to the LD Partnership Board. I so hope there will be lots of opportunity to work collaboratively, cohesively and positively with as many people with lived experiences involved at all stages as possible.
I asked Robert why he wanted to join today
“That was interesting - I’m glad I came along. I want to listen to what’s happening. It’s all good, I met lots of right people”

Thank you to
Nikki Roberts Yasmin Broome Sylwia Squires and everyone who made today so interesting, varied and a huge success
