LDE Conference March 2023

Presentation ready and practiced, train tickets booked, journey planned out, the build up to joining the speakers at Learning Disability England 2023 Conference has been a long one.

It’s been several years since we were able to all be in person so there was great excitement. Advocates from across the South of England all came together with support providers and experts with lived experience to listen to speakers sharing campaigns and updates.

Pro-Active Community Chair and Co-chair, Pro Active community members, Active Prospects Director of Care, Jade Vallance and Co-production Programme’s Manager Helen Guest were all together to bring a packed update on the past year and to lead on some of the breakout sessions.

Talking through the experiences members shared with one another the frustrations of traveling by taxi and how many times plans had been spoilt, appointments missed or day ruined by companies letting them down.

Matt, Leanne and Michael led group discussions with LDE members and guests, to collect vital feedback and survey information even more determined to drive forward with the Disability Taxi Charter.
