Local Care Home presents cheque to Proactive Community

Reigate Beaumont Care Home in Reigate recently presented Pro Active Community with a cheque for £1950.

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

Members Leanne Yeo and Michael McLachlan from the Pro-Active Community visited with residents and staff at Reigate Beaumont to receive the cheque and to celebrate being awarded the grant.

Matthew Leadbeater, Chair of the Pro-Active Community, said: “The Pro-Active Community are so grateful for this grant as a celebration day has been possible with 20 people all heading to Brighton to enjoy the Sealife Centre, a flight on the i360 and to take time together there. This would not have been an option without this money to enable all those who can’t set funds aside for activities such as this, and pay for transport too”.

Pramojil Kurian, General Manager at Reigate Beaumont Care Home said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities. Handing over this cheque to them has allowed us to meet new members of the community and we look forward to building a relationship with them and supporting them moving forward.”

Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
