Peer Leadership Training

PEER Health Champion.jpg

Hi everyone,

It has been very busy few weeks.

I have been busy studying and successfully completed the NHS Peer Leadership Development Programme.

A Peer Leader is a person with lived experience of having a disability who is committed to working collaboratively with others to shape and influence how health and social care is delivered.

The course was in modules and I really enjoyed reading the stages. I learnt a lot from it. I didn’t get questions and answers right at first, but I did it on my own with minimal support.

At first, I didn’t know the knowledge and struggled, but I got there in the end. I didn’t expect that I would finish the first course, but I did. I learnt a lot of new skills and I think it will help me talk easily with other people or a large group of people and share what I have learnt. I also joined the Active Prospects wellbeing Committee so I can use my new skills and knowledge.

Best wishes Elizabeth
