Life changing steps to better health

What a powerful life story, hearing people sharing and overcoming challenges and obstacles in such a determined way is very inspiring.

The Whole Systems Approach to Obesity project has generated significant opportunities for life changing events.

Joining the leads across Surrey at the Health Inequalities Learning Disabilities & Autism Board, Pro Active Community member Emma Jane, has laid on the line what she’s done with the support of
Active Prospects UK to make life and health changes, as well as the incredible goals met and set.

A very important aspect of her success is the relationship with her keyworker who has motivated and encouraged the journey so well.

“I couldn’t have done this without my keyworker Tina who has joined me to do this”

Rightly very proud of all achieved - what a triumph against many barriers.

Thank you to
Liz Williams on behalf of Emma Jane, for inviting her to present

“I’m so really proud of what I have achieved over the last 2 years, I was so shocked to hear I could die, or need a wheelchair, even oxygen if I didn’t make change, now I’m on track for a huge goal”

“With my own bus pass, thanks to Surrey CC, I’m going shopping on my own, not with staff, for the first time since forever”

Enabling everyone to hear such stories make the role of support providers vital.
