Learning Disability England Conference 2021
On 9th March the PAC took part in the Learning Disability England conference. It was the first virtual conference they have had and was attended by hundreds of people via Zoom.
We did a short video with poems, pictures and a song. We worked with The Aldingbourne Trust and the Include choir who used Makaton for the song ‘Help from my Friends’.
I enjoyed it. It was fun to do. I really thought it was brilliant to find out how people struggled with lockdown. The conference and our video showed our journey together and it showed how we are all in the same boat.
I really liked taking part and it was good to express myself and my feelings . It was also extremely helpful to me to hear other people’s feelings about the lockdown.
I found it emotional with other people saying the same thing , and how we need to look after ourselves with the difficult times. The pandemic has been like a rollercoaster going under the tunnel but now we hope to have light at the end of it.
We hope you like the video.
